Rick Scardina (Razzia - President)

Ricardo “Rick” Scardina was born in Venezuela. Rick is married and lives in Taylorsville. He and his wife, Jana, are the proud parents of four children. All of them have played soccer for fun at some point. He loves camping and doing activities with his family. He is fluent in Spanish and English and some Italian.

Rick grew up playing soccer, volleyball, and basketball in high school. He also played baseball and softball with his friends. At age 10 and while playing soccer in the state leagues in Venezuela, he was awarded the Defensive Player of the Year for the Miranda State. He continued playing soccer while in college and he was invited to play for a semi-professional team, Deportivo Zamora, at age 18. He declined the offer to play in order to pursue one of his dream of becoming an engineer. He continues to play friendly games with some friends in the valley.

Rick is an avid learner. He holds an A.S. in Electronics Engineering from IUTRC – Venezuela, B.S. in Electronics Engineering, and Information Technology from BYU, and an MBA – in IT Management from WGU - Utah.  Currently, he works as an IT Solutions Architect for TDW.

To improve his soccer coaching skills, Rick has participated in courses to earn an F, E, Grassroots, D, and most recently a C license from the US Soccer Federation. He enjoys teaching kids how to play soccer, improve their skills, and continue to learn how to become a better coach.

Rick got elected as the Club President at the Razzia Annual General Meeting in August 2021 succeeding Dave Calderwood.

Dave Calderwood (Razzia - Vice President 2)

Dave was born here in Salt Lake City, Utah at LDS Hospital which is also where he currently earns his living doing computer support. He is married to his lovely wife Tiffany for almost 20 years (June 2022 will be 20). They are the proud parents of 3 amazing children, Cj (16), Ethan (13), and Mia (6). Dave and his family reside in Herriman Utah.

Dave grew up playing soccer for Westwind Soccer Club, which later became Razzia FC. For 8 years he played the beautiful game starting out as a forward and eventually moving back to his favorite position, goalkeeper. His team (Westwind Blast) played in multiple state tournaments, taking 2nd in the state twice. He moved on from soccer when he hit High School to pursue football which is where his athletic dreams came to an end due to injuries.

Dave found his love for soccer again when his oldest son Cj wanted to play at 3 yrs. old. Cj played the first season of recreational soccer and Dave immediately knew that he had to jump in and start coaching. The next season, he signed up through the rec center to be a volunteer coach and the rest is history. Dave currently holds an “E” coaching license and loves working with the youth teaching them the game of soccer. Dave has a strong belief and philosophy that if you teach them to love the game, the rest will fall into place. He is now in his 13th year of coaching, 4 yrs. as a rec coach, and 8 years as a competitive coach. Currently, he is the head coach for the Razzia Rebelz 2004 Boys team. They have worked their way up the ranks from Metro D to D2 in just a few short years.

Back in 2017, Dave decided that he wanted to do more for the game of soccer than just coach, so he ran for the position of VP of Razzia FC and was elected at the 2017 AGM (Annual General Meeting). He spent his 2-year term learning and being mentored by the Razzia President at the time (Jodi Barton) to become the next President of Razzia FC. It was at the AGM in 2019 that Dave was elected to be the next President of Razzia FC.
